DEAD POET SOCIETY return to Lisbon on January 21, 2027, at LAV-Lisboa ao Vivo, presenting their alternative rock with influences from garage to progressive. The American band, with two albums released, promises an intense and dynamic concert.

Full details

DEAD POET SOCIETY return to Portugal on January 21, 2027, with a concert scheduled at LAV, Lisboa ao Vivo. The American band, which released their second full-length record, titled 'Fission', in January 2024 via Spinefarm Records, returns to Lisbon at a time when their presence in Europe has been consolidating more and more consistently, and already with an established relationship with the Portuguese audience. Formed in Boston in 2013, DEAD POET SOCIETY – Jack Underkofler on vocals and guitar, Jack Collins on guitar, Dylan Brenner on bass and Will Goodroad on drums – have followed a path that defies the usual logic of rising in alternative rock. Before gaining any significant attention in the American market, it was the Mexican audience that first adopted them, after discovering the band through a blog. Seven tours in Mexico followed, some as headliners, playing in small venues for a fan base built concert by concert and without any support from radio or significant media coverage. Recognition in the United States came years later, when they supported Andrés and then Badflower in 2019. It was precisely those intense years on the road that shaped what they are today live: a group with the physical pragmatism of those who learned their craft on small stages and in difficult rooms. As a result, DEAD POET SOCIETY gradually became a name to reckon with for those who appreciate more 'out of the box' rock, and 'Fission', which is still their most recent album, made music critics start treating them as more than just an interesting proposal with obvious references. Occupying their own space within alternative rock, the quartet's music crosses influences ranging from garage to progressive. At the center of this identity is Jack Collins' fretless guitar, complemented by Underkofler's versatile voice, capable of alternating between moments of restraint and passages of greater intensity without ever losing consistency. AllMusic describes the band's sound as 'dark alternative hard rock', but with a progressive dimension – a definition that helps frame the quartet's proposal quite well, although it does not fully translate the energy and dynamics that the musicians reveal on stage. In their baggage, DEAD POET SOCIETY have two studio albums released by Spinefarm Records, the debut '-!-', from 2021, and the successor 'Fission', from 2024, in addition to several singles that allowed them to gain space on American rock charts. Among them, the hit 'Running In Circles' stands out, which reached 24th place on Billboard's 'Mainstream Rock Songs' chart and established itself as an indicator of sustained growth and increasingly solid visibility, also helping to explain the band's growing presence on European stages in recent years. Now, with a new album on the horizon, anticipated by the recent release of the singles 'Sinner Systems' and 'Roach', the return of DEAD POET SOCIETY to Lisbon fits into a European trajectory that the musicians have been deepening even more evidently since the release of 'Fission'. Show original (Portuguese)
