A participatory theatre project created by Keli Freitas from the stories of immigrants living in Lisbon, whose performers bring to the D. Maria II stage trajectories that cross geographies, languages and cultures. A conversation with the artists moderated by Joyce Souza / Segundo as Marias takes place on 26 September.

Synopsis This participatory project, conceived by Keli Freitas, stems from listening to and meeting immigrants living in Lisbon. The creator, herself a migrant, brings into the process people whose stories cross distinct geographies, languages and cultures. In meetings, conversations and shared artistic practices, participants are invited to join a creative process that places their experiences and perspectives at the centre of the stage. More than representing a social reality, the project promotes effective participation and the visibility of different voices and trajectories, through theatre. Between personal accounts, everyday gestures and plural imaginaries, the stage becomes a place of encounter, recognition and collective construction, reinforcing the D. Maria II's commitment to participatory artistic practices and to the diversity of cultures and communities of the contemporary city. Sinopse Este projeto participativo, concebido por Keli Freitas, parte da escuta e do encontro com pessoas imigrantes que vivem em Lisboa. A criadora, também ela migrante, convoca para o processo pessoas cujas histórias atravessam geografias, línguas e culturas distintas. Em encontros, conversas e práticas artísticas partilhadas, os participantes são convidados a integrar um processo de criação que coloca as suas experiências e perspetivas no centro da cena. Mais do que representar uma realidade social, o projeto promove a participação efetiva e a visibilidade de diferentes vozes e trajetórias, através do teatro. Entre relatos pessoais, gestos quotidianos e imaginários plurais, o palco torna-se lugar de encontro, reconhecimento e construção comum, reforçando o compromisso do D. Maria II com as práticas artísticas participativas e com a diversidade de culturas e de comunidades da cidade contemporânea.
