The company auéééu revisits Georg Büchner's unfinished Woyzeck in a dystopian scientific laboratory where humanoid machines serve an ethics-free notion of progress that culminates in a femicide.

Full details

Synopsis Georg Büchner died at 23, in 1837, and never finished Woyzeck, one of the plays that herald modern theatre. It is an unfinished and fragmentary text. That is also why it is an open field for multiple possibilities. The problem the auéééu chose to tackle relates to the vocation of patriarchal power to act according to the laws of scientific progress, on the one hand, and, on the other, its evident and catastrophic consequences. On stage, a scientific laboratory is created where humanoid machines obey an artificial order of intelligence that is not governed by ethical values. In a dystopian environment, these figures operate exclusively in the name of progress, culminating in a femicide. «The auéééu build a visually striking show.» Agenda Cultural do Porto Artistic Sheet Woyzeck Based on the unfinished work by Georg Büchner Creation auéééu With Filipe Velez, Frederico Barata, Joana Manaças and Sérgio Coragem Co-creation and Plastic Conception Fernando Roussado, Filipe Andrade Co-creation and Lighting Design Daniel Worm d'Assumpção Creation Support Joana Amado Silva, Manuela Viegas and Livia Lattanzio Costumes Miss Suzie and auéééu Production Joana Amado Silva Research Support David Antunes and Francisco Luís Parreira (Inúteis Conversas) Co-production Residency O Espaço do Tempo Artistic Residency OSSO, Cão Solteiro. Show original (Portuguese)

Agenda Cultural do Porto Ficha Artística Woyzeck A partir da obra inacabada de Georg Büchner Criação auéééu Com Filipe Velez , Frederico Barata , Joana Manaças e Sérgio Coragem Cocriação e Conceção Plástica Fernando Roussado , Filipe Andrade Cocriação e Desenho de Iluminação Daniel Worm d’Assumpção Apoio à Criação Joana Amado Silva, Manuela Viegas e Livia Lattanzio Figurinos Miss Suzie e auéééu Produção Joana Amado Silva Apoio à Pesquisa David Antunes e Francisco Luís Parreira ( Inúteis Conversas ) Residência de Coprodução O Espaço do Tempo Residência Artística OSSO , Cão Solteiro .
