Brief Introduction If in recent decades the term ambient has consolidated, largely thanks to the visionary work of Brian Eno and the broader recognition of his work, the multiple interpretations that followed have reconfigured its premises. At the dawn of the millennium, Fennesz, Jan Jelinek, Gas or Tim Hecker brought this state of mind to the threshold of expressions increasingly demarcated by textural exploration and the search for synesthesia. From the kaleidoscopic visions of Basic Channel's records to the dystopian filter of Burial, among many others, the sensory dimension intensified and expanded in multiple directions. Less surgical and more artisanal, the cream of the genre now agglutinates memories of pop culture, impressions of daily life and an organic nature, almost as spontaneous as uncontrollable – which makes everything more alive than ever. And in the middle of 2026, there is no lack of examples of the exploratory quality that reigns in these frequencies. The producer mu tate is a key piece to understand this moment. Starting from the documentary and musical heritages of his family, much of his work revolves around the idea of temporal rescue, crossing it with the sound matter that surrounds us daily, often without us even noticing. It is an immersive process of dissolution of forms, which ends up transforming even the listening experience itself. Life of mu, released last April, reveals a broad palette of dynamics, vaguely more adjacent, in a hybrid state with disguised beats, integrated into a habitual aquatic journey whose capacity to surprise remains intact. On the other hand, connections to names such as Space Afrika, Racine or NEXCYIA, as well as residencies on the webradio platform NTS, demonstrate the constant and symbolic presence of this producer originally from Latvia, but based in Berlin. In an era marked by intense and controversial public discussion around AI and the creative risks that derive from it, mu tate is possibly able to sign the most human music of our time. With open arms to restlessness, to the exploration of error and to the unpredictability with which it manifests itself. Pure fluid meditation, in the right tune – and within everyone's reach. NA ~ Violet In her hometown, Lisbon, Violet is a multifaceted figure in the electronic music scene, contributing to the local scene from various angles. As co-founder of the online radio station Rádio Quântica, resident at Planeta Manas – Lisbon's main DIY space – and at the queer rave mina, her work represents a thoughtful expression of the political history of dance music, conveyed both through her voice and her music. Life of mu , editado em abril passado, revela desde logo uma paleta alargada de dinâmicas, vagamente mais adjacentes, num estado híbrido com beats dissimulados, integrados numa já habitual viagem aquosa cuja capacidade de surpreender permanece intacta. Por outro lado, as ligações a nomes como Space Afrika, Racine ou NEXCYIA, bem como as residências na plataforma de webradio NTS, demonstram a presença constante e simbólica deste produtor originário da Letónia, mas radicado em Berlim. Como cofundadora da estação de rádio online Rádio Quântica, residente no Planeta Manas - o principal espaço DIY de Lisboa - e na rave queer mina , o seu trabalho representa uma expressão ponderada da história política da dance music , transmitida tanto através da sua voz como da sua música.
