MIAU presents the launch of its 2026/27 season with a concert by Portuguese folk/rock trio Lobo Mau at Espaço Alvito, featuring songs from their albums and EPs.

The Ano Q 2026 Festival, organized by Rádio Quântica, takes place on September 25 and 26 at Galeria Zé dos Bois, celebrating innovative sounds from the Portuguese scene with emerging and underrepresented artists, as an alternative to the mainstream.

The concert Time of Music, Music of Time pays tribute to Eduardo Lourenço's poetic prose, with an instrumental programme from the late 17th and early 18th centuries performed by Occassus Ensemble. With an introduction by Paulo Pires do Vale and readings by Júlio Martín Fonseca, the recital ends with a Bach violin sonata.

Al-jiçç present Níger Suite, the project's seventh album, at Cossoul, crossing jazz, improvisation and musical traditions from Mali and Morocco. The concert brings together Nuno Damião, Gonçalo Lopes, Ricardo A. Freitas and Jorge Lopes Trigo, with Maria Radich on two tracks.

Ricardo Ribeiro returns to Sintra for a concert in the Jorge Sampaio Auditorium at Centro Cultural Olga Cadaval. One of the most recognized voices of contemporary fado, he presents a performance marked by vocal intensity, rigour and a contemporary take on classical repertoires.

Throughout the year, numerous traditional festivals and rituals of a religious nature take place in Japan, of great social and cultural importance. With solemn ceremonial moments and others of pure entertainment, they originate mainly from Shintoism - the ancient cult of the kami spirits - to which Buddhist practices were added. The exhibition Japan: Festivals and Rituals introduces these celebrations and their role in Japanese society, as axes of identity and community building, of its conception of the world and the forces that move it.

The Cuca Monga Festival returns to Lisbon for its 4th edition on 25 and 26 September at the Gardens of Museu de Lisboa/Palácio Pimenta, with two days of live music featuring label artists and guests. Daily ticket is €32 and the event is for ages 6 and up.

The 10th edition of Under The Doom Festival takes place at LAV in Lisbon on 25 and 26 September 2026, with two days of doom, death and atmospheric metal. The line-up includes international acts such as Draconian, Evoken and Schammasch.
