If it works here, it will work anywhere. In Morocco, Namibia or Afghanistan. This presupposes that the quality of something is beyond the subjective, with all its idiosyncrasies. What is good is good. Here or in China. What smells bad here also smells bad there. Chloé is the same everywhere. So are our works of art. Henry Miller turns in his grave and his discomfort tells us no: what is banned and ostracized in one place is applauded in another. Would these works touch the hearts and intellect of a people who spend their time licking shop windows in shopping malls, where it is nice and cool? It doesn't matter. Aliens would have their preferences too. Perhaps we would be amazed that these beings, so extraordinarily I don't know what, did not choose the entrenched Mona Lisas as a symbol of quality in our subconscious. I don't quite know what that is. Half-conscious. One senses that thought is around but cannot grasp it. In China there are dwarfs, but I didn't see them. We must be careful not to offend anyone.
