A dialogue between the works of Lourdes Castro and Ilda David, exploring the relationship between light and shadow in azulejo tiles, crossing memory and contemporaneity.

The exhibition (R)encontro no Azulejo proposes a sensitive dialogue between two generations of artists: Lourdes Castro and Ilda David. Starting from the relationship between light and shadow, the project crosses distinct but deeply complementary plastic universes, in an encounter that honors Castro's work and its historical connection to the Galeria Ratton since its founding in 1987. In Ilda David, light assumes a vibrant and almost sculptural presence, freeing itself from the pictorial surface and finding an echo in the subtle play of shadows that marks Lourdes Castro's imaginary. The tile becomes here a territory of dialogue, where memory and contemporaneity cross, revealing unexpected continuities in Portuguese art. ARV. Monday to Friday, from 10am to 1:30pm/3pm to 7pm.
