Synopsis Transcendência, a choreographed recital that centres on the cycles of Kaija Saariaho (Quatre Instants) and George Crumb (Apparition), presenting a journey through the expressive possibilities of the voice and movement. Although these cycles form the core of the programme, additional works complement and illuminate their emotional and sonic landscapes, creating a continuous dialogue between textures, emotions and dimensions of sound. Saariaho's music evokes an eternal love, earthly and ethereal, intimate and meditative, inhabiting subtle and colourful textures that trace the inner life of the psyche. Crumb's Apparition, on the other hand, opens another dimension: a spectral, amplified world in which memory, life and presence are reimagined as an intertwined journey. Together, the cycles embody a passage from introspection to revelation, highlighting the ways in which sound can transcend the boundaries of time, space and human perception. The programme's concept of transcendence reflects music's capacity to lift the listener beyond the immediate moment, revealing deep connections between emotion, imagination and existential reflection. Voice and movement intertwine, forging an integrated, multisensory experience in which music transforms perception and evokes the ineffable. This recital demonstrates how contemporary cycles can confront the psyche, conjure transcendent experiences and articulate the mysteries of life and memory, offering a journey as intimate as it is expansive.
