12th edition of LandArt Cascais, at Quinta do Pisão, with interventions by Pedro Cabrita Reis and Susanne S. D. Themlitz.

The 12th edition of LandArt Cascais (2026) takes place at Quinta do Pisão, in Cascais, every two years, bringing together artistic interventions in deep symbiosis with nature. This edition, curated by Luísa Soares de Oliveira, highlights the visual universes of two great names in contemporary art, whose works challenge the perception of space and the environment: Pedro Cabrita Reis: A Probable Horizon #8. A white sculpture with striking geometric lines installed in the open field. Concept: The structure materializes as a vanishing point that redraws the horizon line. The white minimalism establishes a visual dialogue and direct contrast with the soft, organic outline of the surrounding hills. It is an update of the landscape genre, a theme the artist obsessively revisits in his career to dialogue with Art History. Pedro Cabrita Reis uses three-dimensional drawing to question the human scale in the face of the immensity of nature. Susanne S. D. Themlitz: The Listener. Artistic installation located in one of the historic water tanks of Quinta do Pisão. It presents a hybrid figure or being holding a fishing rod, whose line plunges directly into the water. True to her style, the Portuguese-German artist transforms a functional element of the farm into an enigmatic and fantastical setting. The presence of the being blurs the boundaries between the human, the animal, and the imaginary fauna itself. Susanne S. D. Themlitz evokes Surrealism, literature, and fictional biology. The static figure "fishing" in the tank slows down time and invites visitors to contemplate the mystery hidden in the forgotten corners of the rural landscape.
