Cascais Ópera presents the opera 'The Unicorn's Ring', with music by Martim Sousa Tavares and stage direction by Rita Calçada Bastos, at the Auditório Carlos Avilez from 22 to 25 October, in sessions for schools and families with children aged 6 to 10, as part of the World Opera Day celebrations.

From 22 to 25 October, the Auditório Carlos Avilez, in the Edifício Cruzeiro, presents the opera 'O Anel do Unicórnio' (The Unicorn's Ring), with music by Martim Sousa Tavares and stage direction by Rita Calçada Bastos. The various sessions are intended for schools and families. The initiative is part of the World Opera Day celebrations (25 October) and forms part of an important dimension of Cascais Ópera's work: bringing opera to new audiences and creating, from an early age, a close relationship with this art form. Keeping the original libretto, written by Ana Lázaro in 2021 and with music by Martim Sousa Tavares, this new presentation starts from the same story to build a completely renewed experience. Pedro Patê, a boy bored by his unusual luck, son of two opera singers, lives inside an Opera that never ends, together with the background music of an Orchestra that scores his every gesture. Bored with this condition, or with being dragged into epic adventures or intrigues and mischief by his father Bellini Bel Canto, a former barber in Seville, and his mother Faustina Balão, a true baroque diva, Pedro dreams of being an illusionist and discovering the trick that steals the singing from his family's mouths with just a snap of his fingers! Until one day, Faustina Balão's pet cat, Don Giovanni al Latte, mysteriously disappears, precisely on the day they celebrate their Silver Wedding Anniversary.
