In this family workshop at Palácio Pimenta's garden, participants observe the variety of plants and learn to distinguish trees, herbaceous plants and climbers while creating their first herbarium. The activity includes recording, collecting, drawing and cataloguing, and discusses preserving natural ecosystems and sustainable practices in cities.

Brief Introduction Herbaria are fundamental tools for getting to know flora. During a walk through the garden of Palácio Pimenta, participants observe the variety of plants and learn to distinguish trees, herbaceous plants and climbers by their leaves, flowers, fruits or seeds. In this challenge of observation and exploration, the goal is to record, collect, draw, catalogue and unveil the secrets of the natural world in a first herbarium. In this workshop, we discuss the importance of preserving natural ecosystems and the need to develop sustainable practices to ensure a healthy future for our planet, particularly in cities.
