A performance inspired by Nan Shepherd's 'The Living Mountain', exploring the hidden elements of the mountain and our imaginative relationship with the wild, where the mountain is not a summit to be climbed but a place to enter. This show opens a rift and things happen.

In the middle of World War II, Nan Shepherd writes The Living Mountain, describing her travels through the Cairngorms in a meditation on the consolation and strength of untamed regions, focusing on the hidden elements of the mountain and our imaginative relationship with the wild world. In 1940, the manuscript's publication is refused and it would remain kept in a drawer for more than three decades. This show starts from that Living Mountain and from Shepherd's idea that the mountain is not a summit to be climbed, but a place to enter. A rift that opens. Things happen, some, in this show.
