Brief Introduction *With Carla Sofia Tuesday and Thursday 13.00 - 14.00 For ages 16+ NOTE: For space management reasons, please indicate the format [in-person or online] when registering. Oriental dance is a dance by women, for women of all ages and body types. Its main characteristic is the rhythmic movement of the hips and abdominal muscles. It is made up of a series of vibrations, accentuations, undulations, pelvic movements and rotations that work the body as a whole. Combined with music and a sinuous, snake-like quality, these movements were originally an integral part of fertility rituals and preparation for motherhood. Oriental dance promotes sociability, self-esteem, sensuality, strength, endurance, flexibility, coordination, body awareness and balance, providing a true inner journey. Above all, it allows you to discover that it is possible to have fun dancing, releasing and controlling the body at the same time, leading us on a path of personal enrichment through movement. The physical and emotional benefits of Oriental Dance make it a true therapy for body and mind. TESTIMONIALS FROM THE ORIENTAL DANCE STUDENTS OF MUSEU DO ORIENTE: "When I dance, I am surprised by the strength that is born in me. Oriental Dance is lightness - it takes us beyond ourselves. Oriental Dance awakens the GODDESS within me! Is there anything more POWERFUL than that? It is more than a dance, it is pure MAGIC!" "Oriental Dance classes bring me many things: they help me stretch my back and breathe deeply, distract me from any worries I may have at that time, and give me a community with whom I can share the sensations and emotions brought by dance. Oriental Dance is much more than the imaginary setting of the Thousand and One Nights, populated by women with bare bellies and faces covered by a veil. Oriental Dance is a process in which the body is always evolving in the mastery of technique and movement. At the same time, Oriental Dance opens a space within us, so that each dancer can connect with her deepest, sleeping feminine root. And that is why it is important to dance!" ONLINE FORMAT This is an online edition, broadcast in real time via the Google Meets platform. To access it, participants only need a mobile phone, tablet or computer with a good internet connection.
