On this guided tour of the exhibition on display at Casa Sommer, participants are invited to travel through almost a century of Cascais' evolution through public and private collections of illustrated postcards, essential visual testimonies for discovering the urban, social, and landscape transformations that shaped the territory. Since the late 19th century, these postcards have carried images of Cascais' beaches, streets, hotels, and landscapes around the world, accompanied by messages in the most diverse languages. Between words of affection and travel accounts, they became true ambassadors of the town, revealing the beauty of its bay and preserving the memory of an era. From the dialogue between old postcards and current photographs, the exhibition gives new life to images and words of other times and reveals how Cascais was lived and shared by successive generations. An unmissable journey through the memory of the territory, where each postcard holds a story waiting to be discovered. Guided tour by João Miguel Henriques. Target audience: general (M/10).
