Creative workshop “Etegami: the art of the Japanese postcard”

Saturday 7 November · 10:00

Casa Sommer, Cascais

Have you heard of Etegami, the “art of the Japanese postcard”? The name Etegami results from the combination of the words “e” (image) and “tegami” (letter or postcard), showing how art can transform ideas into visual messages. In this workshop, integrated into the exhibition “Cascais, 1870-1960: A story in postcards”, on display at Casa Sommer, children will discover a fun way to create postcards that combine simple drawings and short phrases. Led by Casa Nic and Inês, this activity challenges participants to try new techniques: drawing with brushes, paints and free forms, exploring colors and creating personalized postcards full of imagination. At the end, each participant will make their own stamp, making each creation even more special and unique. Target audience: families with children between 4 and 12 years old. Free participation subject to prior registration HERE. Information: 214 815 239 | 214 815 758 (call to the national fixed network) | Weekdays from 9:00 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00. Organization: Câmara Municipal de Cascais.
