The Aljube Museum Resistance and Freedom presents a permanent exhibition on the Portuguese dictatorship (1926-1974), repression and resistance, including 25 April 1974. Adult tickets cost €4, with discounts and exemptions for young people, seniors, residents and others.

Synopsis Through its long-term exhibition, it characterises the Portuguese dictatorial regime (1926-1974), its means of repression and oppression (censorship, political police and courts), the resistance of the opposition (semi-legal and clandestine), the anti-colonial struggle and the 25 April 1974. It regularly promotes temporary exhibitions around themes related to its collection, with parallel programming, where the resistance of the past intersects with the defence of citizenship and human rights in the present. The museum has a documentation centre, where it offers specialised literature, develops research activities, processes and shares a documentary archive and promotes a broad collection of testimonies from those who resisted the dictatorship. In addition to educational work with schools and the general public, other regular activities are promoted, such as guided tours, conversation cycles and sessions with film and debate. Visitors can also see part of the building's structures where the museum is housed and an archaeological display from its basement. Inaugurated on 25 April 2015, the building's recovery and adaptation project is by architects Manuel Graça Dias and Egas José Vieira.
