'Year 2200' is a poetic and apocalyptic vision of Humanity, a dystopian allegory about the erosion of freedom, combining physical theatre, objects, shadows and video art.

Synopsis YEAR 2200 is a poetic and apocalyptic vision of Humanity that invites us on a journey about freedom and its erosion. On a planet where oxygen has become an artificial resource, human beings survive locked in small apartments, like fish in an aquarium. In this dystopian allegory, an authoritarian system turns isolation into a norm, militarises public space, extinguishes cultural life and leads to the destruction of the natural world. As freedom disappears, human beings also lose the ability to see, hear, smell, taste and, finally, to speak. The staging combines physical theatre, object theatre, shadows, video art projections and an original soundtrack by Fernando Mota. A visual and sensory experience that questions the future, or perhaps the present, and values freedom and Love as essential needs of the human condition.
