British singer Flora Hibberd brings her indie-folk, rooted in rock, synthpop and 17th-century folk traditions, to the Sótão da Casa Capitão on September 24. Her debut album Swirl (2025) and new release Mammoth (2026) offer a cosmic and mundane experience with surrealist allusions and raw emotions.

Inspired both by rock and synthpop as well as traditional 17th-century folk songs, Flora Hibberd's songs are always anchored in indie-folk. Her music is as mundane as it is cosmic, with surrealist allusions and raw emotions. Born in London and living in Paris since age 18, Hibberd sees songwriting as a stroll through a strangely familiar neighborhood, where she reveals and celebrates the oblique and the mystical. Her debut album, Swirl (2025), earned her high praise last year, and the new Mammoth (2026) sounds like a promise fulfilled. Produced by Bem Lanz of The National, it is an album populated by ghosts of history and prehistory, wandering through the present and facing the future head-on.
