The Marriage of Figaro

Sunday 1 November – Friday 6 November

Teatro do Bairro ., Lisbon

Brief Introduction After having helped Count Almaviva win Rosina in “The Barber of Seville”, now Countess, Fígaro prepares to marry Susana. The problem is that the Count also desires Susana and counts on an old seigneurial right to anticipate the groom on the wedding night. Fígaro disagrees. So does Susana. The Countess, for obvious reasons, joins the conspiracy. What follows are hidden lovers, women swapped, compromising letters, doors that open at the worst moment and a Count increasingly lost. In the end there is a wedding. And it is demonstrated that an intelligent servant always knows how to serve his master well, especially with a good lesson.
