ZDB and Mondo Negro present Poison Ruïn, a Pennsylvania quartet blending black metal, punk and dungeon synth, with doors at 20:30 and 15€ entry.

Brief Introduction Poison Ruïn In partnership with Mondo Negro, and before the arrival of Powerplant, ZDB treads paths adjacent to metal/punk with the very timely appearance of Poison Ruïn. Without any vocals or tremolo picking to be heard, an aura of black metal hangs over the music of the Pennsylvania quartet, one that lets itself be haunted by the spectre of Venom as much as it recognises the D-beat swing that hit Darkthrone from The Cult Is Alive onwards. Tangentially, there is also a lyrical obsession with medieval times, in an original foray into fantastical social criticism that juxtaposes the feudalism of the Dark Ages with today's labour hardships, but in its ability to bring audiences together, it can be called, with everything that implies, a Punk band. Direct, memorable but carrying a whole wealth of ideas that brings them close to Deathrock, while accepting atmospheres transplanted from Dungeon Synth, very rock'n'roll riffing, atmospheric themes for soaring guitars and distant voice, post-punk swerves and a voice claiming the full-lunged choruses of Oi! and the singable disgust of punk in '77. All in a remarkable balance, the dirt of the guitars at an exact point of fusion with the clarity of the songs, making the best use of the momentum of a label as imposing as Relapse to maximise the nerve, hypnosis and sharpness of their sound.
