Carlos No brings to Fundação Carmona e Costa an installation that summons questions long present in his work: the fragility of the human condition, exclusion, the margins and the imbalances resulting from social dynamics, from the helplessness created by political choices or by war. The singular place that ÓSTRACOS occupies in Carlos No's work thus derives not so much from the expectations of meaning conferred by the title, but from the complexification that the worked material and the production process conceived by the artist give it.
