Based on Nan Shepherd's 'The Living Mountain', this show turns the mountain into a place you enter, not a summit to conquer. Written during World War II and rejected in 1940, Shepherd's manuscript comes to the stage as a meditation on the wild world.

Brief Introduction During World War II, Nan Shepherd writes 'The Living Mountain', describing her journeys through the Cairngorms in a meditation on the consolation and strength of untamed regions, focusing on the mountain's hidden elements and our imaginative relationship with the wild world. In 1940, the manuscript's publication is rejected and it would remain hidden in a drawer for more than three decades. This show starts from that 'Living Mountain' and from Shepherd's idea that the mountain is not a summit to be climbed, but a place you enter. A crack that opens.
