Latin Grammy winner Mariana Aydar brings her Brazilian music blending tradition and modernity, celebrating Northeastern culture and forró classics, at Casa Capitão.

Mariana Aydar, winner of the Latin Grammy in 2024 and 2020, is one of the most striking voices in Brazilian music. With six albums, two documentaries and songs in Globo soap operas, she unites tradition and modernity by celebrating Northeastern culture and revisiting forró classics. Founder of the São Paulo carnival block 'Forrozin', Mariana has collaborated with names like Gilberto Gil and Criolo. Her work values female protagonism, questions outdated narratives and offers a contemporary look at love and the rich legacy of forró. She was in Portugal last year twice: in April at BOTA Anjos for the 10th anniversary celebrations of the PINUTS agency, and then in September to perform on the Palco 1º de Maio at Festa do Avante and in Sala 2 of Casa da Música (Porto). There are no seated or reserved places at Casa Capitão concerts. To guarantee a good position facing the stage, it is advisable to arrive early. And be ready to spend an hour or two standing.

Com seis álbuns, dois documentários e músicas em novelas da Globo, ela une tradição e modernidade ao celebrar a cultura nordestina e revisitar clássicos do forró. Fundadora do bloco paulistano “Forrozin”, no Carnaval de São Paulo, Mariana já colaborou com nomes como Gilberto Gil e Criolo. Sua obra valoriza o protagonismo feminino, questiona narrativas ultrapassadas e oferece um olhar contemporâneo sobre o amor e o rico legado do forró. Esteve em Portugal o ano passado por duas vezes: em abril no BOTA Anjos nas comemorações do 10º aniversário da agência PINUTS e depois em setembro para atuar no Palco 1º de Maio da Festa do Avante e na Sala 2 da Casa da Música (Porto). Não há lugares sentados, nem marcados, nos concertos da Casa Capitão. Para garantir uma boa posição face ao palco, convém chegar cedo. E pronto para passar uma ou duas horas em pé.
