Artistic workshop inspired by the schist plaque from the Alapraia Necropolis, part of the European Heritage Days 2026. On September 23, from 10am to 12pm, at the Vila Museum, with prior registration and free participation for ages 4 and up.
Full details Inspired by one of the most iconic prehistoric artefacts discovered in the current municipality of Cascais, the schist plaque, this artistic workshop promises a journey through time, recovering experiences, beliefs and ways of manual and artistic work of the most distant ancestors.
Discovered in the emblematic Necropolis of Alapraia, this piece transports us to the sacred and divine imaginary of the Final Neolithic/Chalcolithic communities that inhabited our territory. Through engraving and painting techniques, the great challenge is to reimagine and recreate, with our own hands, this valuable treasure of Cascais's history.
Within the scope of the European Heritage Days 2026, dedicated to the theme 'Heritage at risk: revive, resist, reimagine', the Vila Museum promotes a free artistic workshop for all visitors, on September 23, between 10am and 12pm. Come and leave your mark!

Show original (Portuguese) Inspirada num dos artefactos pré-históricos mais icónicos descobertos no atual concelho de Cascais, a placa de xisto, esta oficina artística promete uma viagem no tempo, recuperando vivências, crenças e modos de trabalho manual e artístico dos antepassados mais longínquos. Descoberta na emblemática Necrópole da Alapraia, esta peça transporta-nos para o imaginário sagrado e divino das comunidades do Neolítico Final/Calcolítico que habitaram o nosso território. Através de técnicas de gravação e de pintura, o grande desafio é reimaginar e recriar, com as próprias mãos, este tesouro valioso da história de Cascais. No âmbito das Jornadas Europeias do Património 2026, dedicadas ao tema “Património em risco: reviver, resistir, reimaginar”, o Museu da Vila promove uma oficina artística livre a todos os visitantes, no dia 23 de setembro, entre as 10h00 e as 12h00.
