Between Samurai and Violins proposes a musical journey inspired by the life and thought of Shinichi Suzuki, a major figure in 20th-century music pedagogy. Born into a lineage of samurai and a member of the family that owned the world's largest instrument factory, his path was marked by a late discovery of the violin, by his time in Berlin, by his friendship with Einstein and by the formulation of the 'mother tongue' principle. This concert celebrates a legacy that combines discipline, listening and affection, revealing music as a language of formation, sharing and growth. Between tradition and innovation, this concert promotes an immersive experience, capable of transforming performers and audiences on both sides of the stage.

We are organising open sessions at the Community Garden at Nova SBE (Rua da Holanda), every Thursday from 10:00 to 12:00. Come help create seedbeds, transplant, water plants or take care of the garden. Attendance is flexible! There will always be someone from the garden working on whatever is needed (because there is always work in a garden and an allotment) and, therefore, you just need to show up at any time!
