17,5€ Live music

Commented concert by Susana Henriques. Lisbon Music Academy. Between Samurai and Violins proposes a musical journey inspired by the life and thought of Shinichi Suzuki, a major figure in 20th-century music pedagogy. Born into a lineage of samurai and a member of the family that owned the world's largest instrument factory, his path was marked by a late discovery of the violin, by his time in Berlin, by his friendship with Einstein and by the formulation of the 'mother tongue' principle. This concert celebrates a legacy that combines discipline, listening and affection, revealing music as a language of formation, sharing and growth. Between tradition and innovation, this concert promotes an immersive experience, capable of transforming performers and audiences on both sides of the stage.

Full details

Synopsis De Gaulle: Resistance (La Bataille de Gaulle: L'âge de fer), Antonin Baudry France, Belgium, 2026, 160', Historical Fiction, Portuguese subtitles Cast: Simon Abkarian, Simon Russell Beale, Florian Lesieur, Anamaria Vartolomei June 1940. While France surrenders and History seems to have already decided its fate, one man persists in believing in the impossible. De Gaulle: Resistance follows the days when the future leader of Free France, still virtually unknown, leaves for London and begins, almost alone, a political and personal battle to keep alive the idea of a free France. More than an official portrait of the national hero, Antonin Baudry's film builds an intense human and political drama, revealing a stubborn, contradictory and sometimes almost quixotic de Gaulle, seeking legitimacy in a world plunged into chaos. With ambitious staging and a great cinematic spectacle pace, the film turns a decisive episode in French history into a narrative of suspense, courage and resistance. A huge box-office success in France, marked by Simon Abkarian's acclaimed performance as Charles de Gaulle.
