At Livraria Zé dos Bois, Francisco Corrêa presents an installation that is at once the last memory of a life and the first gesture of a narrative yet to be assembled. The work is part of a broader project that will find its complete form at Centro Cultural Raiano, in Idanha-a-Nova, within the partnership between the two institutions. At the centre of the installation, pigeons and arrows draw a suspended instant, like a game someone stopped halfway. The scene does not move, but pulses with the tension of an unfulfilled outcome. The viewer, arriving without warning, becomes a mute witness to that fragment, a frozen memory that no longer belongs to them, yet summons them. This is the territory of what Ana Pérez-Quiroga calls “post-trauma”: the empathy that makes us feel the pain of someone we do not know, crossed by objects that carry the life of a stranger. Quoting António Lobo Antunes, the piece asks in silence: is this a work about death or a work that denies death? The answer may lie not in the forms, but in the way memory clings to a handful of figures — the pigeons, the arrows, the title that evokes someone else’s nightmare — and resists oblivion. There are objects that become symbols, that perform the life of those who can no longer speak. What is intimate and unrepeatable becomes, for a moment, common ground. If the coming exhibition opens with a chest — the gesture that sets off a journey made of treasures, traps and biographical fragments — the installation now shown at Livraria Zé dos Bois reveals its reverse: a final memory, the last remembrance of a character that only fiction could save. Between chronicle and game, Mike Tyson’s worst nightmare invites us to remember, in the sense Eduardo Galeano returned to the word: re-cordis, to pass through the heart again. Tomás Longo. Na Livraria Zé dos Bois, Francisco Corrêa apresenta uma instalação que é, ao mesmo tempo, a última memória de uma vida e o primeiro gesto de uma narrativa por montar. A obra integra um projeto mais amplo que encontrará a sua forma completa no Centro Cultural Raiano, em Idanha-a-Nova, no âmbito da parceria entre as duas instituições. No centro da instalação, pombos e setas desenham um instante suspenso, como um jogo que alguém parou a meio. A cena não se move, mas pulsa na tensão de um desfecho por cumprir. O espetador, que ali chega sem aviso, torna-se testemunha muda desse fragmento , uma memória congelada que já não lhe pertence, mas que o convoca. É o território daquilo a que Ana Pérez-Quiroga chama «pós-trauma»: a empatia que nos faz sentir a dor de quem não conhecemos, atravessada por objetos que carregam a vida de um desconhecido. Citando António Lobo Antunes, a peça pergunta em silêncio: trata-se de uma obra sobre a morte ou de uma obra que nega a morte? A resposta talvez não esteja nas formas, mas na maneira como a memória se agarra a um punhado de figuras , os pombos, as setas, o título que evoca um pesadelo alheio , e resiste ao esquecimento. Há objetos que se tornam símbolos, que performatizam a vida de quem já não pode falar. Aquilo que é íntimo e irrepetível torna-se, por momentos, um território comum. Se a exposição que virá se abre com um baú , o gesto que despoleta um percurso feito de tesouros, armadilhas e fragmentos biográficos , , a instalação agora apresentada na Livraria Zé dos Bois mostra o seu avesso: uma memória final, a lembrança derradeira de uma personagem que só a ficção podia salvar. Entre a crónica e o jogo, Mike Tyson’s worst nightmare convida a recordar, no sentido que Eduardo Galeano devolveu à palavra: re-cordis, voltar a passar pelo coração. Tomás Longo.
