When, in 2018, Sons of Kemet shook the foundations of English jazz with Your Queen is a Reptile, amid the percussion and brass shakes, a voice emerged. Joshua Idehen; British-Nigerian poet and musician, who declaimed with authority, both on the first song of the album and the last. His voice snaked through the instrumental, awakening a curiously double sensation: Idehen's recitation sounded both healing and threatening. That duality has guided a career that has always placed the voice at the forefront. Everything in Idehen's spiritual proposal, built in partnership with producer Saturday, Monday, revolves around the vocal element. He is, at the same time, a rapper and a spokesperson for the new Afrofuturism. Doors open: 9:30 PM. Concert: 10 PM.

Quando, em 2018, os Sons of Kemet abalaram os alicerces do jazz inglês com Your Queen is a Reptile, entre as sacudidas de percussão e sopros, uma voz emergiu. Joshua Idehen; poeta e músico britânico-nigeriano, que declamava com autoridade, tanto na primeira música do disco quanto na última. A sua voz serpenteava pelo instrumental, despertando uma sensação curiosamente dupla: o declamado de Idehen soava, ao mesmo tempo, curativo e ameaçador. Essa dualidade tem guiado uma carreira que sempre colocou a voz em primeiro plano. Tudo na proposta espiritual de Idehen, construída em parceria com o produtor Saturday, Monday, gira em torno do elemento vocal. Ele é, ao mesmo tempo um rapper e um porta-voz do novo afrofuturismo.
