For her first major exhibition in Portugal, Rosa Barba presents a new site-specific and temporal narrative, drawing on and expanding a series of conceptual themes she has explored over the years. Rosa Barba's work (Italy, 1972) often addresses the juxtaposition of natural landscapes and environmental changes caused by human beings, archive stories and visions of the future, the proximities between astronomy and cinema, and the use of non-actors as witnesses. At the heart of this approach lies a continuous reflection on impermanence — of materials, of images and of thought itself. At CAM, these concerns manifest themselves in the physical presence of celluloid film and cinematic apparatuses, used not only to create moving images but also sculptural elements that live on their own. The exhibition functions as a three-dimensional film and, at the same time, as a musical score, in which cinema allows time and space to vibrate, crumble, overlap and expand.

Para a sua primeira grande exposição em Portugal, Rosa Barba apresenta uma nova narrativa site-specific e temporal, inspirando-se e expandindo uma série de temas conceptuais que tem explorado ao longo dos anos. O trabalho de Rosa Barba (Itália, 1972) aborda frequentemente a justaposição de paisagens naturais e alterações ambientais provocadas pelo ser humano, histórias de arquivo e visões do futuro, proximidades entre astronomia e cinema e o recurso a não-atores como testemunhas. No centro desta abordagem reside uma reflexão contínua sobre a impermanência , dos materiais, das imagens e do próprio pensamento. No CAM, estas preocupações manifestam-se na presença física da película de celuloide e de aparelhos cinematográficos, utilizados não só para criar imagens em movimento, mas também elementos escultóricos que vivem por si só. A exposição funciona como um filme tridimensional e, simultaneamente, como uma partitura musical , na qual o cinema permite que tempo e espaço vibrem, se desmoronem, se sobreponham e se expandam.
