Synopsis “Come from Away” is a musical created by Irene Sankoff and David Hein. It is based on the events that took place in the town of Gander, in Newfoundland (Canada), in the week following the 11 September 2001 attacks. During that period, with US airspace closed, 38 planes carrying almost 7,000 passengers were diverted to Gander. The town's residents welcomed these people, housing them, feeding them and supporting them until they could continue their journey. Sinopse “Come from Away“ é um musical criado por Irene Sankoff e David Hein. Baseia-se nos acontecimentos ocorridos na cidade de Gander, em Terra Nova (Newfoundland, canadá), na semana que se seguiu aos atentados de 11 de setembro de 2001. Nesse período, com o espaço aéreo dos EUA fechado, 38 aviões com quase 7.000 passageiros foram desviados para Gander. Os residentes da localidade acolheram essas pessoas, hospedando-as, alimentando-as e apoiando-as até que pudessem prosseguir viagem.
