A drawing and painting workshop for children aged 6 to 14, inviting them to imagine and draw the mythical figure Caquesseitão and to look for the actual object in the museum, then reinterpret it with unusual materials.

Brief Introduction CHILDREN'S WORKSHOPS Saturday | 10 October Timings: 10.30am–11pm Minimum number of participants: 6 children Maximum number of participants: 10 children Target audience: children from 6 to 14 Come and know Caquesseitão, a medieval mythological figure recreated in the 17th century. In this workshop we will draw an imaginary animal first, before seeing the real one, using the ink-spot technique. Afterwards, we will look for the animal actually in the museum!!! Will your children recognise it from the drawing they created? Tales of imaginary views, line and collage to build the Caquesseitão and a reinterpretation of this sought-after piece with unusual materials like buttons – that is the challenge of the afternoon. This workshop is based on the existing account of the Aquamanil by Fernão Mendes of Miranda and “Mythological Monsters of Ancient Greece” by Sara Fanelli.
