The exhibition (R)encontro no Azulejo brings together Lourdes Castro and Ilda David in a dialogue between light and shadow, memory and contemporaneity, with the azulejo as a shared territory.

(R)encontro no Azulejo proposes a sensitive dialogue between two generations of artists: Lourdes Castro and Ilda David. Starting from the relationship between light and shadow, the project crosses distinct but deeply complementary plastic universes, in a meeting that honours Castro's work and her historical connection to Galeria Ratton since its foundation in 1987. In Ilda David, light assumes a vibrant, almost sculptural presence, freeing itself from the pictorial surface and finding an echo in the subtle play of shadows that marks Lourdes Castro's imaginary. The azulejo becomes here a territory of dialogue, where memory and contemporaneity cross paths, revealing unexpected continuities in Portuguese art. ARV. Monday to Friday, 10h–13h30/15h–19h.
