João Aguardela was one of the most singular figures of contemporary Portuguese music. Over more than two decades, he crossed tradition and experimentation in projects such as Sitiados, Megafone, Linha da Frente and A Naifa, always searching for new ways to create. Through archive footage, personal films, concert recordings and interviews with family and friends, Esta Vida de Marinheiro follows Aguardela's journey through music and the people who were part of his life.
