Juão Nyn's show, spoken in Tupi Potyguara, recreates the story of a Tupinambá executed for sodomy in 1614 in São Luís do Maranhão, claiming the presence of indigenous languages and peoples in Brazilian history.
Inspired by the first documented case of LGBTphobia against an indigenous body in Brazil, the show recreates the story of a Tupinambá executed for sodomy in 1614, in São Luís do Maranhão. Spoken in Tupi Potyguara and with few subtitles, it proposes a sensory experience in which light, sound, characterization and manifestations of native matrices also build the narrative, claiming the presence of indigenous languages and peoples in Brazilian history.
