Synopsis Em Silêncio is a show that invites an immersive journey, placing spectators on the stage itself, close to the performers. A journey through the 48 years of dictatorship in Portugal, with an auditory and visual dynamic, vertiginous and captivating. A text built from documents and testimonies of people who lived through that era; people who were imprisoned for political reasons; people who took refuge in France; people who lived more than 40 years in hiding; people who fought for the independence of their countries in Africa; people who lived in silence and fear; people who became informants of the system; people who did not want to know what was happening. With live music and a large-scale projection, which will break the boundaries between reality and creation, exploring the lines of tension between cinema and theatre, between fiction and reality; between performers, the audience and the people who lived through that period of our history. All together on a theatre stage – the space of freedom of thought and creation. Together, because there is an intimacy we want to preserve when talking about torture, fear, student struggles, inequalities, racism, colonialism, illiteracy, the political power of patriarchy and its inherent aggression against the feminine. Because when we talk about human rights, we must be close to each other so that thought can echo.
