A guided thematic tour of the long-term exhibition at the Museu de Lisboa – Palácio Pimenta, exploring the presence and circulation of religious communities in Lisbon over the centuries, including Jews, New Christians, Muslims and Protestants.

Brief Introduction A journey through Lisbon's religious history, revealing its plural and complex past, still visible in the urban geography and collective memory. Synopsis Lisbon has always been a city of encounters and also of diverse beliefs. In this guided thematic tour of the long-term exhibition at the Museu de Lisboa – Palácio Pimenta, the presence and circulation of religious communities over the centuries is explored: Jews, New Christians, Muslims, Protestants, among others. Based on objects, documents and historical episodes, we reflect on how migrations and political contexts shaped a city where different confessions coexisted, resisted and, at times, were persecuted.
