Filipe, a young man full of dreams, meets a seagull on a bridge and follows its flight, triggering conflicts and revelations in a family full of secrets. The play explores generational clashes and the conviction that only love can save, even when it is too late.

Synopsis Filipe is a young man full of dreams that seem impossible to him, but which are perfectly normal to his grandmother, who understands him completely, and utterly absurd to his father, who mistreats and insults him, seeming not to have an ounce of love. In a family full of secrets, it is Filipe's passion for theatre and specifically his identification with Nina, the famous character from Chekhov's "The Seagull", that triggers all the conflicts, all the revelations, all the hidden feelings. On a day of astonishing loneliness, Filipe comes across a seagull on a bridge. He follows its flight and, by making that choice, he will force all the characters to fly. "Imitation of the Birds" speaks about the life of a normal family where there are secrets no one accepts, where the elders feel abandoned, where the younger ones feel misunderstood, where parents do not have time to get to know their children. That is what it is about: generational conflicts within a family and the conviction that only love saves, even if it is already too late.
