Quiet Light is the project of Riya Mahesh, an American producer, singer and multi-instrumentalist. Her songs are, in her own words, “dream sequences”. Her Lynchian electropop sound is frozen in time and built to withstand wear, weaving concise, precise compositions with delicate threads of ambient, electronic and folk music. Her self-titled debut EP, Quiet Light (2020), kicked off an independent discography: Blue Angel Sparkling Silver and Fourth of July (2023), Going Nowhere (2024) and Pure Hearts (2025). Throughout her journey, she has won acclaim from the specialised press, having received a merit recognition from Iggy Pop, and having been chosen to open shows for artists such as Cameron Winter, Erika de Casier, Nilufer Yanya and Chanel Beads. Now, with her upcoming mixtape Blue Angel Sparkling Silver 2, her debut release on True Panther (Oklou, Jawnino, Grace Ives), Quiet Light proves herself to be a generational voice that is here to stay. The songs assemble like a dreamlike collage of the places, people and influences that brought Mahesh here. As she herself says: “This record is for people who dream about what their lives could be.” There is no seating, nor assigned seats, at Casa Capitão shows. To secure a good spot facing the stage, it is advisable to arrive early. And be ready to stand for an hour or two. 6 pm, Doors open. 6:30 pm, Villa, Rehead. 7:15 pm, Quiet Light.
