Brief Introduction MINDFULNESS AT THE MUSEUM - MEDITATION VISIT With Mário Rodrigues DATE Saturday | October 31 TIME | 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM PARTICIPANTS | Min. 8, Max. 12 PRICE | €20 During a trip, a concert, a movie or an art exhibition, have you ever found yourself distracted, lost in thoughts, wanting to speed up the moment or simply not paying full attention to what is in front of you at that moment? If so, know that it is perfectly normal for this to happen. Our mind tends to do this, and sometimes it hinders the ability to be in the present moment, even if the most beautiful work of art is in front of us. On average, a person spends between 15 to 30 seconds looking at a work of art. 'Slow Art' is a style of observation that has been gaining strength around the world and aims to cultivate an intentional and immersive observation and appreciation of art. Rooted in a meditative approach, such as the practice of mindfulness, it encourages not only dedicating more time to appreciate a work of art, but also paying attention to your entire experience during the process. Art and mindfulness are natural complements. Both invite reflection and have a therapeutic component that promotes well-being; when they come together, they create a sense of refuge. The presence of mindfulness practice in a museum offers the opportunity to be fully attentive to the entire experience and cultivate inspiration and connection with the pieces of art. So let's go back to the beginning. Have you ever imagined what it would be like to be fully present at an art exhibition? You will be surprised by the richness of your experience and will probably not forget what you observed and felt during your visit. What it consists of: - Mindfulness meditation practice before the visit (30 minutes); - Museum visit with guided meditations by some of the exhibited art pieces (1 hour). Benefits: Immersively explore the museum visit; Promote a space where the frantic pace of everyday life can be slowed down through meditation practices and exploration of the exhibited pieces; Reduce visitor stress and anxiety; Create a dynamic visit between the visitor's internal and external experience.
