'People and Power portrays a people at a decisive moment in their history: the 2024 presidential elections in Mozambique, a country that has just celebrated five decades of independence. In a campaign marked by tension, the film reveals a serious political crisis, with FRELIMO, in power since 1975, losing the trust of a population increasingly disillusioned with inequality, corruption and the lack of freedom of expression. In a direct cinema style, we travel across the country, giving voice to the people and listening to their reflections on the present and their expectations for the future.' Ico Costa
