Sourdough Starter
Massa Mãe
Comedy 14–20€
Tuesday 15 December
Diogo Faro turns the sourdough starter into a metaphor for life — millions of invisible microorganisms, flour, water, salt and constant readjustments — in a comedy about the ancestral bread that fills the deepest core of who we are and extends beyond us.
A sourdough starter is a continuous process of life, full of lives within it, where millions of invisible microorganisms form the whole. And flour and water keep being added to life, adjusted with salt. Maybe it was too much, it was impulse. Readjust. And it grows, growing somewhat misshapen, with setbacks, but consistent. The sourdough starter is the beginning of ancestral bread, the one that fills the deepest bottom of our core. The little centre of the centre. And it also extends beyond us. It goes from us to others, it goes to everything… 14 € to 20 €. diogo faro.
