Casino Estoril, Cascais

The Estoril Folk Fest returns to the stage of the Salão Preto e Prata at Casino Estoril on 28 November 2026, with the theme of Polyphonic Singing. Vitorino, renowned Alentejo singer and major figure of traditional music from Alentejo, will be the headliner of this edition, in tribute to his 50-year career. On stage, he will be joined by the Cantadores de Redondo, a group of which he is a founding member. Also taking the stage at the Salão Preto e Prata will be the Moçoilas, a female vocal group that brings us the soul of the Algarve in the form of polyphonic singing. Arouca is the guest region of this edition and will be represented through the exhibition 'Convento de Arouca e Rainha Santa Mafalda', which will set the tone for the Festival's opening with a colloquium that will take us to the importance of the Convent and Queen Saint Mafalda for the cultural identity of this region. Representing the Female Polyphonic Singing of this region, a collective of 70 women will take the stage to present some 'Cantas' from the traditional songbook of Arouca. It is worth noting that Polyphonic Singing is currently a candidate for UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
