A participatory theatre project by Keli Freitas at the D. Maria II, built from listening to and meeting immigrants living in Lisbon, bringing their stories and trajectories to the centre of the stage.

Synopsis This participatory project, conceived by Keli Freitas, stems from listening to and meeting immigrant people who live in Lisbon. The creator, herself a migrant too, calls into the process people whose stories cross distinct geographies, languages and cultures. In meetings, conversations and shared artistic practices, participants are invited to join a creation process that places their experiences and perspectives at the centre of the stage. More than representing a social reality, the project promotes effective participation and the visibility of different voices and trajectories, through theatre. Between personal accounts, everyday gestures and plural imaginaries, the stage becomes a place of encounter, recognition and common construction, reinforcing the D. Maria II's commitment to participatory artistic practices and to the diversity of cultures and communities of the contemporary city.
