Brief Introduction What was Lisbon like on the eve of the earthquake that almost destroyed it? Synopsis This guided tour is an invitation to go back to October 31, 1755, to discover a city of convents, churches, palaces and busy streets, in an impressive portrait of the 18th-century capital, captured in the Great Model of Lisbon, now fully restored. Ten meters long and four meters wide, this unique piece offers a detailed view of the city before the cataclysm of November 1. From it, we explore the geography, architecture and daily life of Lisbon, reflecting on the impact of the earthquake and the profound urban and social transformations that followed.
