Visit the permanent exhibition of the Bordalo Pinheiro Museum in Lisbon, which brings together around 13,200 objects by Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro, including tiles, ceramics and humorous drawings, and where the famous Zé Povinho was born.

Synopsis Permanent exhibition of the Bordalo Pinheiro Museum in Lisbon. The Bordalo Pinheiro Museum opened to the public in 1916, being the first museum in Portugal built from scratch to house the work of a single artist. Its mission is to disseminate the work of Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro, a striking artist of the second half of the 19th century, known for his genius and humour, and creator of the famous Zé Povinho. Based on the collection of Cruz Magalhães, the museum's founder, the collection has been enriched over the last 100 years. It comprises around 13,200 objects, from tiles and ceramics to humorous drawing. Come and discover the most fun museum in Lisbon! Opening Hours The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. Closed on Mondays, 1 January, 1 May and 24, 25 and 31 December.
