A must-see in Lisbon, it regularly appears in The Art Newspaper's ranking of the 100 most visited museums in the world. It holds a significant representation of national and international names, such as Alexander Calder, Almada Negreiros, Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso, Amedeo Modigliani, Andy Warhol, Cindy Sherman, Doris Salcedo, Francis Bacon, Helena Almeida, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Joan Miró, Louise Bourgeois, Lourdes Castro, Marcel Duchamp, Max Ernst, Nan Goldin, Niki de Saint Phalle, Pablo Picasso, Paula Rego, Piet Mondrian, René Magritte, Richard Serra, Salvador Dalí and Wifredo Lam, among many others, which are in the deposit of works from Coleção Berardo, Coleção Teixeira de Freitas, Coleção Ellipse and the State's Contemporary Art Collection on loan to the Museu de Arte Contemporânea/Centro Cultural de Belém. With a history of about 30 years of exhibition and museum activities, initially as Centro de Exposições (1993, 2005) and later as Museu Coleção Berardo (2006, 2022), it was inaugurated in 2023 as MAC/CCB – Museum of Contemporary Art and Architecture.
