In this workshop, participants discover basketry as one of the oldest technologies for transforming plant fibres. Starting from natural raw materials, different techniques of preparation, interlacing and construction of objects are presented. The activity combines the archaeological framework with hands-on experimentation, allowing participants to understand the gestures and knowledge required to produce containers and other utensils. Each participant has the opportunity to try out the techniques presented and to produce a small piece. The workshop takes place in two shifts: from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00. Target audience: ages 12 and over. Registrations: atividadesnatureza.cascais.pt. Information: [email protected] | 215 811 750. Organisation: Cascais Ambiente and Pre & Historic Skills.
