Brief Introduction SILK PAINTING AND TEXTILE MEMORY WORKSHOP With Paulo Valle DATE | Saturday | 26 September TIME | 14:00 to 18:00 PARTICIPANTS | Min. 4 Max. 10 PRICE | €70 (includes materials) Discover the fascinating ancient technique of silk painting under a contemporary and authorial look! This workshop proposes a practical and immersive approach to silk, exploring this noble material historically linked to the East not only for its technical aspect, but as a living support of memory and artistic expression. Throughout the workshop, participants will learn to dialogue with the fluidity and lightness of the fabric through the use of specific silk paints and the traditional resist technique (gutta). Under the guidance of artist Paulo Valle, free gesture and awareness of the value of individual creation will be stimulated, combining experimentation of color and composition. An excellent opportunity to acquire new artistic skills, relax and create an original and exclusive work on natural silk to take with you. Paulo Valle Brazilian visual artist based in Lisbon since 2015 and Master in Art History from the University of Lisbon, develops work recognized for the dialogue between memory, territory and matter. With solid experience as an art teacher, he teaches techniques ranging from watercolor to acrylic painting; his artistic practice crosses painting and textile design, exploring concepts of displacement to build affective landscapes. In silk painting, Paulo Valle finds the ideal support to investigate fluidity and impermanence, combining manual techniques with a sustainable vision based on circular fashion (upcycling). His workshops favor a relaxed and welcoming approach, where the free gesture on silk becomes a powerful tool for human narrative and artistic expression accessible to all.
