Desidério Lázaro (saxophone) and Mário Delgado (guitar) lead a concert dedicated to Joe Henderson's music at the Távola Jazz Club with the Desidério Lázaro Trio. The Faro-born saxophonist, whose latest album is MicrUs (2023), has played with names such as Mário Laginha, Maria João and Salvador Sobral.

Desidério Lázaro, Saxophone Desidério Lázaro was born in Faro on 6 June 1982. Desidério Lázaro performs in a wide variety of formations ranging from the most traditional jazz to more contemporary strands (pop, funk, fusion), having already played with names such as Mário Laginha, Maria João, Carlos Barretto, André Fernandes, Alexandre Frazão, Mário Delgado, João Paulo Esteves da Silva, Bruno Pernadas, Salvador Sobral, as well as Rui Veloso, Luís Represas, The Black Mamba, Mafalda Veiga, Carlos do Carmo, Joana Espadinha, Miguel Ângelo and B Fachada, among others. As an author, he has presented his projects at the main Portuguese jazz festivals and concert halls in the country. He began his recorded output in 2010 with “Rotina Impermanente”, and his most recent work is “MicrUs” (2023, Sintoma Records), always receiving favourable and enthusiastic reviews, as well as several nominations for “jazz album of the year”.
