In the middle of World War II, Nan Shepherd writes The Living Mountain, describing her travels through the Cairngorms in a meditation on the consolation and strength of untamed regions, focusing on the hidden elements of the mountain and our imaginative relationship with the wild world. In 1940, the manuscript's publication is refused and it would remain kept in a drawer for more than three decades. This show starts from that Living Mountain and from Shepherd's idea that the mountain is not a summit to be climbed, but a place to enter. A rift that opens. Things happen, some, in this show. Em plena Segunda Guerra Mundial, Nan Shepherd escreve A Montanha Viva , descrevendo as suas viagens pelas Cairngorms numa meditação sobre o consolo e a força das regiões indomadas, focando-se nos elementos ocultos da montanha e na nossa relação imaginativa com o mundo selvagem. Em 1940, a publicação do manuscrito é recusada e ficaria guardado numa gaveta durante mais de três décadas. Este espetáculo parte dessa Montanha Viva e da ideia de Shepherd de que a montanha não é um topo que se deve subir, mas um lugar onde se entra. Uma fenda que se abre.
